Overshadowed by the Canelo vs Chavez fight, the Grand Hotel hosted WCK Muaythai

We often hear about the two boxers who were in a classic confrontation and went toe to toe. On Saturday, the promoter Golden Boy Promotions was in such a battle and blew all of his competition away. Their mega-matchup of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez versus Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. literally put all promoters and all promotions, to shame to include Dennis Warner’s WCK Muaythai Show being held on the roof of the Grand Hotel in Downtown Tijuana. But, as they say, “the show must go on” and despite the inclement weather, 14 fighters made their way to the ring and put on one heck of a show.

In attendance, assorted members of the Virgil Zwicker fan club.

Virgil Zwicker has his arm raised in victory by WCK Supervisor Sarinda Chaney and the show’s promoter Dennis Warner.

As Antonio Arango was getting stitched up, his comments are worth repeating, “Yeah, I may have gotten a little busted up, but the important thing is I got the win and we put on one hell of a show.”

You have no chance in hell of beating this guy especially when he brings along his support group.

Despite the inclement weather, the Garcia family enjoyed their visit to Tijuana.
