World Championship Muay Thai returns to Pechanga on Saturday

In the Main Event of the evening it will be Jemyma Betrian (l) of Netherlands vs. Christi Brereton (r) of the United Kingdom battling it out for the WBC Muay Thai Women’s Bantamweight World Title.
On Saturday evening, June 7, 2014, starting at 6:30 p.m., you’ll have an opportunity to see some of the world’s best full contact Muay Thai fighters in action, an International Competition featuring many of the fighters from China going up against the best in the U. S.
Also, you’ll have an opportunity to see an Extreme Wushu contest. For those unfamiliar with Wushu, it’s the modern derivation of traditional Chinese martial arts such as Kung-fu which was made famous by it’s practitioners, Jet Li, Ray Park, and of course Bruce Lee. The standard training program concentrates on a core curriculum of eight major styles – Bare hand (Long Fist), Short Weapon (Sword-play), Long Weapon (Spear-play). It’s quick, agile, and rhythmic, punctuated by explosive and spectacular jumping techniques.
