Republic Training Center hosting fundraiser for Mama’s Kitchen on Sunday

The newly opened Republic Training Center at 1735 Garnet Ave. in Pacific Beach is hosting a fundraiser, Sunday, November 14, from 6:00–9:00 p.m. for Mama’s Kitchen, the organization that provides meals and nutritional assistance to people affected by aids and cancer. The event will feature a Muay Thai Kickboxing exhibition, an art and photo exhibit, live musical performances, a DJ along with complimentary snacks and hors d’oeuvres. Master fitness trainer Gina Reyes, co-owner of the gym, will manage the event. Reyes wants to encourage the media and the community to get together and make a difference in the lives of the many San Diegans living with AIDS and Cancer.
“Being in the health and fitness industry we’ve had the opportunity to help countless people get healthy and of course fit,” states Reyes. “Sadly, we can’t reach everyone and that’s where Mama’s Kitchen comes in. Mama’s Kitchen allows us to extend our reach to adults and children in need of healthy meals and proper nutrition.”
Reyes has long been active in giving back to her community. With over a decade of private and group fitness training experience, she’s helped countless people reach their health and fitness goals. She said hosting this event is an honor for her.
“Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and there’s nothing more gratifying for me than to help the less fortunate enjoy this and many more healthy meals and happy holidays,” said Reyes. “Come and enjoy the party and buy a $20 pie. All proceeds go to support Mama’s Kitchen…help us make a difference!”
