Pro MMA fight card Badbeat 6 update

Bamma USA announces their latest in a series of Pro MMA events.

On Thusday, June 16, 2012, Bamma USA, one of Southern California’s leading MMA promotions, announced their scheduled professional MMA fight card for Badbeat 6 presented by Budweiser to take place Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Commerce Casino located at 6131 E. Telegraph Rd, Commerce, CA, 90040 starting at 7 p.m.

The weigh-ins for Badbeat 6 will take place on Thursday, July 12, 2012 in “The Ballroom” of the Casino starting at 5 p.m.

In the Main Event: Catlin versus Cooper

Headlining the Bamma USA fightcard will be Strikeforce Veteran and submission specialist Bill ‘The Grill’ Cooper. Describing Cooper as a “submission specialist” might seem an understatement to some. He began competing in Grapplers Quest at the age of 15 and has collected 27 championships along the way. At the age of 20 he became the youngest American to ever receive a BJJ black belt.

Scott ‘KO’ Catlin is shown unloading his powerful straight left on an unsuspecting foe.

Cooper is set to take on San Diego native Scott ‘KO’ Catlin (8-5) of Chula Vista, CA. Catlin pulled off a knockout upset win over former UFC vet Gabe ‘Godzilla’ Ruediger last March at Badbeat 5.

The fight card does not taper off after the Main Event.

In the Co-Main event, Mike ‘The Joker’ Guymon (13-5-1), a former UFC veteran and KOTC Champion, will attempt to continue his winning ways against Xtreme Couture’s Mike Dizak (5-4). In January, Guymon began a new chapter in his fighting career when he decided to drop down to a new weight class, the 155 pound division. By March, ‘Joker’ reached his goal of 155 lbs. and defeated Cris ‘The Lightning’ Leyva via TKO in the 2nd round of his bout at Badbeat 5.

While Guymon is coming off a very emotional win, Dizak has other plans. The Las Vegas native, who was under the tutelage of Shawn Thompkins until his passing, is looking forward to making his BAMMA USA debut against Guymon.

‘The Real Deal’ Chris Beal comes into Badbeat 6 on a 5-fight winning streak. The top prospect and undefeated bantamweight will be tested against MMA veteran Kana Hyatt. Beal’s last fight in Badbeat 5, ended with a body slam and TKO stoppage of Jose Morales in the 1st round. Hyatt’s last fight for Bamma USA was at Badbeat 1, when he lost via an unanimous decision against current UFC fighter Jared Papazian.

A couple of MMA veterans make their BAMMA USA debut in the bout between Tom ‘The Grinder’ Gloudeman (6-1) and Steve ‘The Dream’ Magdaleno (8-3). Magdaleno comes into this fight on a 2-fight winning streak, however the versatile Gloudeman will attempt to break that streak and record his 7th win of his MMA career.

The Badbeat 6 Main Card opens up with a highly anticipated fight between two undefeated top prospects. Mike Jasper (3-0), out of Bas Rutten’s Elite MMA taking on Team Quest’s Manny ‘Sergeant’ Murillo (4-0).

In their last 3 bouts, both Murillo and Jasper won their fights via TKO. Expect more of the same when they put their undefeated records on the line.
