Hard to believe, Old Dog Boxing hosting their 25th Show
On Friday evening, October 10, 2014, beginning at 7:30 p.m., the South Coast Martial Arts/Boxing Center at 2990 Grace Lane, Costa Mesa, will be hosting their 25th Old Dog Boxing show.
If you’re not familiar with this program here’s a brief rundown. In 1993, the South Coast Gym and the Walking Tall Program began with the intent of providing athletic training in the Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing at an affordable cost to local youngsters and young adults. To make certain this endeavor included everyone, they offered full scholarships to low income families, those with a single parent, families with foster children and young adults fending for themselves. By providing everyone with these physical, educational and social improvement activities, they knew they could help all become productive individuals. And that’s what they’ve done. All proceeds from these Old Dog Boxing shows goes directly to the program.
The individuals helping in this endeavor have been simply amazing, from the organizers/fundraisers and their staffs to the local sponsors, the fighters and coaches, with the full support of the community and the USA Amateur Boxing Program volunteers. Everyone has pitched in.
As in the past, this years’s show should be a dandy with it’s 28 participants, ranging in age from 16 to 57 coming from 19 separate Boxing Clubs/Gyms.
