Also featured on the seven bout fight card are rising Colombian star Darley Perez, local favorites Abraham Lopez, Jonathan Arellano, and junior welterweight prospect Jhon Ortega.

One of the top featherweights in the world, Tijuana’s Burgos (26-1, 19 KOs) is eager to get another shot at the 126-pound title after his hard-fought 12 round decision loss to Hozumi Hasegawa in Japan in November. Since then, the 23-year old dropped Frankie Archuleta three times en route to a second round TKO win in February, and he’s determined to deliver the same dominant performance against Sanchez Leon to prove he’s ready for another championship opportunity.

Sergio "Pollero" Rivera is from Huatabampo, Sonora, Mexico

Mexicali’s Leon (29-10-2, 11 KOs), a 13 year veteran, has faced some of the best in boxing. Winner of four of his last seven bouts, with two first round knockouts, the 30-year old will bring his best when facing his countryman.

2008 Colombian Olympian Darley Perez (21-0, 16 KOs) wasted no time tearing through his opposition after the Beijing Games, compiling 21 fights in just two years. After a 12-0 start in 2009, he added six additional wins last year, and in 2011, he stepped up his game with two of his three victories coming against 23-9 Jose Reyes and 26-13-3 Wilson Alcorro. On July 22, the 27 year-old will battle Huatabampo, Mexico’s Sergio “Pollero” Rivera (25-7-2, 16 KOs) in an eight round lightweight bout.

On April 29, 2011, Abraham Lopez (L) of La Puente, CA won a mixed decision victory over Aaron Garcia (R) of Vista, CA.

La Puente featherweight Abraham “Chamaco” Lopez (14-0, 10 KOs) has always been a popular fighter, but it was his April 29 win over fellow prospect Aaron Garcia that let people know he’s ready for bigger things. Next up for the 23-year old is an eight round matchup with hard-hitting Laredo, Texas product Olvin Mejia (4-3-3, 4 KOs).

Also featured is Londonberry, New Hampshire’s Jhon Ortega (5-0-1, 5 KOs) who has become accustomed to performing on the West Coast since his debut in 2010. He’ll meet McAllen, Texas’ John David Charles (7-2, 1 KO) in a six round junior welterweight contest.

On April 29, 2011 Jonathan "Lil' Thund'r" Arellano (L) found himself in a tough battle against southpaw Shawn Nichol.

In a six round super bantamweight bout, Ontario’s own Jonathan “Lil’ Thund’r” Arellano (8-0-1, 1 KO) squares off against Brownsville, Texas’ Felipe Cordova (10-2, 4 KOs). And in two bouts pitting fighters from Los Angeles against boxers from Indio, LA’s Danny Roman (2-0-1, 1 KO) takes on Indio’s Diego Madrigal (1-0-1) in a four round bantamweight match, and debuting welterweights Javier Albonica of LA meets Joshua Robertson of Indio in a four rounder.

Bouts are subject to change. Doors open at 6:30 pm, and the first bell rings at 7:30 pm. The Doubletree Hotel is located at 222 North Vineyard Avenue in Ontario. The hotel phone number is 909-937-0900. Ticket prices range from $30 up to $75 and can be purchased by calling 714-935-0900.
