Paris to host Glory Fight Series 28, three World Titles to be contested
Your bank account says you have just one option, book the shorter, cheaper flight to the OHare International Airport in Chicago or continue to save money for that once in a lifetime excursion and book a flight to the Charles De Gaulle Airport, Paris, France.
The Glory fans of Paris, France appear to be getting preferential treatment over the Glory fans in Chicago, Illinois. On February 26, at the Glory Sport International’s next striking event, GLORY 27 Chicago, they’re featuring the highly anticipated re-match between reigning Glory Middleweight World Champ 29 year-old Artem “The Lion” Levin (51-4-2, 34 KO) from The Boxing Club right here in La Jolla, San Diego, Calif. by way of Prokopyevsk, Russia and the No. 1 contender 29 year-old Simon “Bad Bwoy” Marcus (42-2-2, 24 KOs) of Jamaican decent who now lives and trains in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
To say the least, this is an outstanding match-up. It’s the rubber match of a championship trilogy that began in 2013. The show will air live on ESPN3 at 7 p.m. PT from the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. on Friday, Feb. 26 followed by a replay on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. PT on Sunday, Feb. 28.

That’s all fine and dandy but what about the show scheduled for March 12th, the Glory Fight Series installment #28 in Paris? It looks to be their most impressive show ever. Riding a nine-fight winning streak under the GLORY Fight Series banner, their dominant Heavyweight World Champ Rico “The Prince of Kickboxing” Verhoeven (47-10, 12 KOs) will be making his fourth defense of his heavyweight title against the No. 3 contender Mladen “The Scorpion Sting” Brestovac (49-10-1, 32 KOs) of Croatia. With this match-up, it’s obvious they intend to at least equal if not surpass the significance of their show in Chicago.
Heavyweight Champion Rico “The Prince of Kickboxing” Verhoeven (r) will be making the fourth defense of his title against Mladen “The Scorpion Sting” Brestovac (l).
But hold on, they didn’t stop there. They added the Brazilian champion Saulo “Cassius Clay” Cavalari (32-2, 19 KOs) putting his Light Heavyweight World Title on the line versus 24-year-old Russian Artem Vakhitov (15-5, 6 KOs), who has only suffered one defeat in GLORY, dropping a decision to Cavalari in their first meeting.

If that wasn’t enough, they added a third great fight. They found an equal for Serhiy Adamchuk (31-5, 14 KOs) of Krivoi Rog (Crooked Horn) Ukraine. Krivoi Rog is an industrial metropolis in the heart of the Ukraine founded in 1775 by the Cossacks, the semi-nomadic people famed for their hardiness and fierceness in battle. Surely Adamchuk has lived up to those characteristics. Adamchuck, undefeated in GLORY with three wins, will now face the No.1 contender, Mosab “The Jaguar” Amrani (55-10-4, 18 KOs) for the Featherweight Title. The 28 year-old Amrani is a Moroccan-Dutch Muay Thai kickboxer, who fights out of Amsterdam, Netherlands. He is a non-stop brawler who will give the Cossack a battle he’ll never forget.
After defeating Gabriel Varga in a five-rounder in Milan, Amrani carved his way through the one-night, four-man Featherweight Contender Tournament at GLORY 26 Amsterdam in December, knocking out both Lim Chi-Bin and Maykol Yurk en route to this victory.
To quote the CEO of GLORY Jon Franklin: “The power position in three different weight divisions will be up for grabs on March 12. We’re looking at a historic night of fights, not only for the fans of Paris, but for GLORY and its athletes as a whole.”

Feared Dutch-Surinamese striker Murthel “The Predator” Groenhart (58-19-3, 33 KOs) takes on fellow welterweight Cédric Doumbé (55-4-1, 35 KOs) of France in the co-headline bout.
GLORY’s one-night, four-man Lightweight Contender Tournament (sort of a last man standing) will feature No.1 ranked Muay Thai sensation Sittichai (106-29-5, 29 KOs).
French talents Freddy “Crazy Horse” Kemayo (65-22-1, 45 KOs) and Eddy Nait Slimani (59-1, 17 KOs) will be making their GLORY debuts.

Why is Paris getting all these phenomenal match-ups? Could it be their fan support? Tickets prices for GLORY 27 Chicago (including access to the GLORY SuperFight Series Chicago) are substantial at $200, $100, $60 and $35. The venue, the Sears Centre Arena, does have 43 luxury suites, 1,000 club seats and parking for 4,700 vehicles.
Tickets prices for GLORY 28 Paris on March 12th appear to be more expensive when you take into consideration the Euro is worth more than the U. S. dollar. Plus the seating capacity of the Accor Hotels Arena in Paris is 16,065 while you can only seat 11,800 in the Sears Centre Arena Chicago. From a fan’s perspective? The Chicago site is certainly more fan friendly now that the French have had to add all those new security measures. Plus, you can forget about bringing your camera. Cameras have been forbidden within the Accor Hotel’s Arena. With SLR cameras being considered professional equipment, they are prohibited. To enable a customer to have any memory of their visit, they do tolerate a cell phone camera but without the use of your flash.
