Gardens Casino & Fight Club OC begin 2019 season

Insiders will tell you, when it comes to people being great at what they do, in this case being a fight promoter and being able to constantly adapt, few come close to matching the success of Roy Englebrecht. For many years, the maestro has been sharing his methods through his Fight Promoter University where’s he’s helped many of today’s most successful promoters like Golden Boy Promotions, Alliance MMA, etc. Some of his latest wrinkles involve using multiple venues and splitting the fight card into half boxing and half MMA.
When the Roy Englebrecht Promotions company kicks off their 2019 season on Saturday, February 9th, they’ll begin their hybrid, half and half fight series at the ultra-modern Gardens Casino in Hawaiian Gardens, Calif. and then follow that up with a similar show at the Fight Club OC at the Hangar on the O. C. Fairgrounds.
Beginning with this first show at the Gardens Casino, they’ll be featuring the following undefeated fighters: super middleweight Jonathan Esquivel (8-0) out of Anaheim, super bantamweight Humberto “Filly” Rubalcava (9-0) out of Westminster, super featherweight Anthony Casillas (7-0) out of South Gate and bantamweight Anthony Ramirez (1-0) from Fontana, Calif. As far as street cred: the four undefeated boxers bring with them, not only their undefeated record but 18 knockouts as well.
So, set in stone, you have Anthony Ramirez 1-0 (1KO) taking on Adrian Negrete (Pro Debut) in the opener in a four round bantamweight contest, Humberto “Filly” Rubalcava (9-0, 6 KOs) taking on the battle tested Jonathan Arturo Torres (8-6-1) in a 6 rounder, Jonathan Esquivel 8-0 (7 KOs) battling Even Alexis Torres 7-7 (5 KOs) in a six round middleweight bout, and the undefeated Anthony Casillas 7-0 (4 KOs) taking on Sergio Lopez 3-5 in a six round super featherweight contest.
In the Mixed Martial Arts portion of the show, fans will get to see Mike Segura (9-6) of Laguna Hills, Calif. taking on Kenny Quach (5-3) from Santa Ana; then Ernesto Leyva from Hacienda Heights and Garrett Williams from Long Beach making their Pro Debuts against each other in a lightweight match.
As mentioned, this is the first of four shows at the Gardens Casino in Hawaiian Gardens, Calif. Subsequent shows are scheduled for Saturday, May 18th, Saturday, August 3rd, and Saturday, November 9th.
Then, on Thursday, February 21, 2019, he’ll have his first Fight Club OC show featuring an explosive MMA match-up of Andre Walker taking on Chris Herrera, Angel Cordon, Jr. taking on Gabriel Serrano in the super featherweight opener, then Emilas Jimenez battling Diego Perez, followed by the rugged Arian Sharifi going head to head with Cameron Christopher in a super welterweight match, Weston Wilson will face the rugged Javier Garcia in a featherweight contest and finally Sergio Gonzalez will go to war against Alejandro Lopez Huerta in a lightweight match.
Tickets for both shows are on sale at www. socafights.com or you can contact your favorite fighter! As advertised, this is the only hybrid Boxing/MMA show in the land!
