Box Latino, one of the premier promoters in Mexico and led by seven time world champion Erik “Terrible” Morales, returns to Baja California, Saturday, April 14th, 2012, with an explosive fight card boasting a number of local and international fighters.

Kaliesha West

Claudia Lopez

The main event has WBO bantamweight champion Kaliesha “Wild Wild” West (14-4-3, 4 KOs) facing Claudia “Chica 10” Lopez (18-5, 4 KOs) and will be televised live by Mexican mega channel Televisa from the Ernesto Ruffo Appel Municipal Gymnasium in Rosarito, Baja California, just 20 minutes from the San Diego-Tijuana border.

In this co-feature with San Diego based Bobby D Presents, promoter Bobby DePhilippis brings two of his hottest young prospects to appear on the card: Tijuana’s favorite son Emilio Bojorquez as well as fast rising undefeated light welterweight Adrian Vargas (5-0-1, 3 KOs) of San Diego.

Bojorquez (19-1, 13 KOs) was an outstanding amateur who in nearly 150 fights amassed an impressive record as well as multiple national, state and municipal titles. In his last two pro bouts, the hard hitting Bojorquez earned a unanimous decision over Alejandro Alonso and then stopped Eduardo Iñiguez in five rounds.

Sandwiched in between was a win over Jorge Juarez, the only man to put a blemish on the record of current WBC light middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, with a draw. Bojorquez won a lopsided decision over Juarez last November. Bojorquez will now face Mario “El Popeye” Padilla (9-5, 7 KOs) as a warm up for an even bigger challenge in the very near future.

Vargas, a successful amateur in his own right, entered the professional ranks in early 2011 with an unanimous decision victory over Franky Martinez. Scoring knock outs in three of his first five fights, Vargas is known as a calculated brawler who’s always looking to end the night early. The self described gym rat is coming off the best performance of his career when he came back from an early deficit to score a draw against amateur and cross town rival Emmanuel Robles in one of the best fights of 2012. Vargas will now face former Baja California amateur team alternate Eduardo “Puas” Diaz (2-0, 1 KO) of Ensenada, Mexico, in a classic border war.

Pedro Guevara

Also featured on the card will be a NABF mini flyweight title bout between WBC #10 ranked Pedro “Pedrin” Guevara (16-0-1, 12 KOs) and WBC #11 Carlos “Ranita” Perez (12-4-3, 8 KOs) as well as five additional bouts.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with the first punch thrown at 6 p.m. For tickets on the U.S. side of the border contact Bobby D Presents at (619) 420-8866.
